THE FIRST ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CORPORATE GOVERNANCE IN BANKS - NEW UPDATES AND REGISTRATION

International Centre for Banking and Corporate Governance, Ukrainian Academy of Banking, Publishing houses “Virtus Interpress” and “Business Perspectives” initiate holding an annual international conference on corporate governance & regulation in banks. This conference appeals to academics, policy makers and business professionals. The conference provides a forum in which delegates can interact and network, with the topic areas being at the forefront of corporate governance developments in an international context.

The first conference in May 27 – June 2, 2010 will be held online. Language of the conference – English.

You are invited to submit a paper on:
• Corporate governance in banks;
• Anti-crisis corporate governance issues in banks;
• Banking regulation;
• Banking reforms in crisis;
• The state programs of the bank recovering;
• Bank recapitalization;
• Board of directors in banks;
• Bank director remuneration;
• Internal control in banks;
• Bank ownership;
• Corporate social responsibility in banks;
• Financial reporting and disclosure in banks;
• Stock market and banks;
• Bank shareholders’ rights;
• State financial support of the banks: an international review.

Contributors are invited to submit their papers and theses (volume – 2000-6000 words).

Deadline for submission: May 7, 2010.

We will notify the contributors of accepted papers by May 15, 2010.
All accepted papers will be placed at the conference web-site by May 20, 2010.
Date of online conference – May 27-June 2, 2010.

Introduction to the conference will be delivered by Paul Chisnall, Executive Director, British Bankers’ Association.

The conference discussion forum will be with participation of representatives of central banks, Fed Reserve Banks of the USA, Association of British Bankers, National bank of
Ukraine, etc. Besides, researchers from more than 35 countries of the world are expected to participate.

1. Corporate Ownership and Control journal – a referred journal (www.virtusinterpress.org)
2. Banks and Banking Systems – a referred journal (www.businessperspectives.org)
3. Conference Review published by Ukrainian Academy of Banking.
